Dear Members of the Unitarian Bahai forum,
1. To provide an online community for people interested in discussing Bahaism from a progressive, open-minded point of view, rather than the dogmatic and authoritarian approach of the Haifan and Remeyite denominations.
2. To promote the development and promulgation of an accurate historical narrative about the development of Bahaism and its leaders, including Bahaullah, Abbas Effendi Abdul-Baha, Muhammad Ali Bahai, Shoghi Effendi Rabbani, the Hands of the Cause, and the Haifan UHJ; correcting the errors and biases of the Abbasite/Shoghite/Haifan sectarian narrative.
3. To encourage the formation of local communities of fellowship for progressive/open-minded Bahais within the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations.
1. All members of the group must introduce themselves before posting other messages or replying to discussions. In their introduction, they must state why they have joined the group.
2. Ad hominem attacks, slander, angry debate, and accusations of heresy or "Covenant-breaking" are prohibited.
3. The moderators may reject and/or delete posts that violate rule #2 above, preventing such posts from being delivered to the members or removing such posts from the online message archives if they have been previously approved accidentally.
4. Members of the group who fail to uphold rule #1 above; or whose introduction does not reflect a primary reason for being here that accords with the purposes of the group as described above; or who demonstrate through their posts to the group a primary reason for being here that is different than those purposes; or who repeatedly violate rule #2 above may be asked to leave by the moderators.
5. The moderators may prohibit, reject and/or delete posts that directly challenge the rules of this group, impugn the integrity of the moderators, or are otherwise intended to inspire hatred, distrust, off-topic argumentation, or detract from the stated purposes of the group or the spirit of friendliness and fellowship we wish to encourage in this group. Repeated attempts by a member to make such posts may result in the moderators asking that person to leave.
At this time, the moderators ask any member who is here primarily for reasons other than the stated purposes of the group above, and/or who is unwilling to accept, uphold and abide by the stated rules of the group above, to please resign from membership in this forum.
Thank you,
Eric Stetson
