SPY RING BUSTED? - Bahai trustees accused of embezzling funds

HINDUSTANI TIMES

NAZIYA Alvi
New Delhi
July 13, 2006

IN A complaint filed in a city court, a few trustees of the National
Spiritual Assembly of Bahais of India have been accused of espionage
by
their colleagues. Apparently, they were supplying classified
documents
from India's defence establishments to Israeli and Iranian spying
agencies and making huge amounts in foreign currency.
Taking cognisance of the complaint, the additional chief metropolitan
magistrate, Kamini Lau, has directed the Economic Offence Wing Cell
to
immediately register a case against the accused persons. The court
has
also asked the cell to file a status report with it by August 10.

As per the allegations in the complaint, one of the accused, N.K.
Bhudhiraja, general manager of finance with the spiritual
organisation,
forged an identity card and af fixed his photograph on an armed
forces
concessions form for fee baggage allowance, which is needed for
military officials travelling to places in India and abroad.
Apparently, he also used to travel under the fictitious name of
'Captain S. Budhiraja' of the air force station at Yelahanka.

Apparently, the accused, by using such impersonations and forgery
managed to clandestinely penetrate into the prohibited defence
establishment of the country and get hold of classified documents. In
turn, he supplied the sensitive documents to spying agencies in
Israel
and Iran in return of foreign currency.

The complaint has also alleged that the stamp of the air force
station
at Yelahanka had been forged with some amount of accuracy and was
being
used by the accused trustees of the 'spiritual assembly'.

The complaint also alleges that another accused, Payam Shoghi, also a
trustee with the society, is in truth an Iranian national. He
fraudulently got his name inserted in the ration card of another
accused and also got it attested.

On the basis of the ration card he managed to procure an Indian
passport. The complaint also states that such passports have been
issued to a number of other foreigners by the accused people through
a
similar fashion of forgery.

The counsel of three complainants Swadesh Kumar, Khub Singh and
Gulshan
Kumar told the court that they have definitive documentary evidence
to
prove that the accused were, in addition to the other violations,
involved in a large scale Hawala transaction network.

Translated from the Persian by Wahid Azal

A Multi-Milliard Rial Scam* By A Baha’i Company in Dubai

-
After the passage of 20 months it is established that this company not
only did not build a single tower/high rise, but didn’t even obtain
the properties for their construction!
-

In an unprecedented scam involving the amount of 2,150 milliard rials
(which was taken from Iranians who had invested money for the purpose
of obtaining property in Dubai), a high-rise/tower construction
development company connected to the Baha’is in the United Arab
Emirates has committed fraud.

According to reports by [the newsagency?] MAWJ (wave), approximately
20 months ago the company ‘Reliance’, which is connected to two
Baha’is by the names of Farhang Rahavi and Elham Sabeti, took money
from Iranians in a pre-sale/‘on plan’ venture capacity, which involved
60 percent on the sale value [of properties], totalling 724 million
dirhams (equivalent to 1,950 milliard rials).

With the sale of two [corporate] projects (a German named ‘Solar Star’
and the Emirati named ‘Al-Mahara’), this company as well demanded the
sum of 75 million dirhams (equivalent to 200 milliard rials) from
Iranians for the purpose of buying property, and obtained it.

Farhang Rahavi, who is an Iranian national with an American passport,
then traveled to Dubai with the aim of organizing an association for
the defense of the misled Baha’i cult. He - who sometime before, due
to his involvement with other fraudulent ventures, had earlier fled
Iran - married Elham Sabeti (the former wife of Dr. Mahbubi, i.e. the
community head of the misled Baha’i cult in Dubai), and with the
company named ‘Reliance’ entered the real estate property market in
Dubai.

This company, in pursuit of illegal transactions, then obtained the
sum of 2,150 milliard rials from Iranians for 22 completed towers/high
rises with the two German and Emirati [corporate] projects.

It should be mentioned that amongst this collected sum approximately
1,110 milliard rials (equivalent to 112 million US dollars) has been
transferred out of the United Arab Emirates and over to the United
States of America.

The buyers [i.e. investors] are of the opinion that through the agency
of one individual named Pezhman Riazati, who is also a Baha’i, their
money was sent out of Iran over to the United Arab Emirates and then
transferred to the United States.

The defrauded Iranians in seeking redress with the legal courts of the
Emirates are as yet unsuccessful in obtaining hearings, and moreover
their cases presently stand in a state of limbo. Some of the bigger
Iranian real estate companies in Dubai, who likewise had dealt with
this company in the past, at the present time have also not been able
to contact the company owners of ‘Reliance’.

A few years ago, in regard to foreign investments and transactions in
Iran, the Chief Justice of our nation had in some cases specifically
warned about unknown companies without identity.

Thank you for this.
I am not a Baha'i now, thank god ! So unaware of this case now.

What i know is this :
Payam Shoghi was the guy involved in that case. He was a counselor and
was very powerful. But after his involvement in this case, he was
removed from his post and the case is still going on and this fellow
is out on Bail. This case is in the hands of a very renowned Baha'i
Firm which is responsible for almost all the cases that involve
Baha'is and their assemblies.

The ELECTION FRAUD email is in circulation among the Indian Baha'is
which I received and posted here.

FYI - In India ONE CANNOT FIND A SINGLE LSA WITHOUT 3-4 IRANIAN
MEMBERS IN IT. The persian baha'is do not trust Indian Baha'is and the
condition is getting worse day by day.

Your statement would prove, therefore, that Susan Maneck's 2006
contention that the case has been resolved in favor of the Baha'is,
'proven' by her production of a seemingly fraudulent news item to that
effect, is false.
