Here are references to think about if you realize that Baha’u’llah was
the first Alif to appear after the Bab’s Mission. There are three
Letters BHA, in the Greatest Name, this Revelation, and two have
appeared, the Bab and Baha’u’llah................

The Bab cited in the book Selections from the Writings of E.G. Browne
refers to Himself as “The (letter) Ba which permeates the water of the
Letters, and the Point which stands at the Gate of the two
Alifs......” p. 215 Selections from the Writings of E.G. Browne
World as Text: Cosmologies of Shaykh Ahmad al-Ahsa'i
by Juan R.I. Cole, Department of History, University of Michigan,
Studia Islamica 80 (1994):1-23. Juan Cole gives this symbolic
meaning to the word ALIF in Arabic:
alif...............A......................al-Badi`
(Wondrous)....................Universal Intellect
Baha'u'llah states at the end of the Kitab-i-Iqan , "Revealed by the
`Ba' and the `Ha". The Bab being the Ba (B) and Baha'u'llah the Ha (H)
of the Greatest Name, BHA, with the Alif (A) soon to follow.

Actually there are four when the hamza' is included, otherwise the
numerical value of baha' becomes 8 rather than 9.

Dear Giovanni (John)

This is my last attempt to help you to perceive your misunderstanding.

As I mentioned before, the writings of E.G. Brown and Juan Cole are
not authoritative writings of the Faith. Their writings have not
been revealed by God nor have they been interpreted by the
authoritative interpreter of the Word of God and therefore certainly
cannot be used as proof of the validity of your erroneous and
unauthorized interpretations.

Following are the words at the end of the Kitab-i-Iqan:

“Revealed by the "Ba' " and the "Ha'." [3]

Peace be upon him that inclineth his ear unto the melody of the
Mystic Bird calling from the Sadratu'l-Muntaha!

Glorified be our Lord, the Most High!"

" [3 B and H meaning Baha.]”

(Baha'u'llah, The Kitab-i-Iqan, p. 257 in the 1931
edition)

As you can see there is no mention above of Alif or A. Moreover the
phrase: “Revealed by the Ba and the Ha” simply means that the
contents of this book have been revealed by Baha (i.e. Baha’u’llah).

Baha’u’llah in many of His writings has used initials in the
same way.

The Iqan has been translated by Shoghi Effendi and he has indicated
that B (Ba) and H (Ha) means Baha.
