POSTED ON BEHALF OF THE GUARDIAN OF THE BAHA'I FAITH
DO THEY THINK THAT FUTURE SECULAR GOVERNMENTS WILL APPLY THE LAWS OF THE
AQDAS?
Since the passing of Shoghi Effendi several schismatic Bahá¹í groups have
come into being which have either endeavored to claim the illegality of the
Will and Testament of Abdu¹l-Bahá or deny the need for the Bahá¹í
Administrative Order or any administrative system at all. Numbered among
these are the so-called ³Unitarian Bahá¹ís² comprised apparently of members
of the Unitarian Church and the adherents of the ³Reform Bahá¹í Faith² who
claim to believe in Bahá¹u¹lláh but yet vehemently denounce His
Administrative Order.
Have adherents of these pseudo Bahá¹í organizations, in which the validity
of the Will and Testament of Abdu¹l-Bahá has been repudiated or declared
superfluous and in which the institutions of the Bahá¹í Administrative Order
are non-existent, considered the fact that, in the absence of these
institutions, the Laws of Bahá¹u¹lláh, as prescribed in His Most Holy Book,
the Kitáb-i-Aqdas, shall never be implemented to the fullest and that
accordingly the World Order of Bahá¹u¹lláh can therefore never become a
reality? Certainly, they cannot believe that future purely secular
Governments will apply these laws to the Bahá¹í citizens of their countries.
Or do they presume, if they have given any thought to it at all that, in the
future, some form of Bahá¹í government will inevitably be found necessary,
and will then have to be concocted by them and put in place. And do they
then incredulously believe that such a government devised by them will be a
superior substitute to the Bahá¹í Administrative Order delineated by
Abdu¹l-Bahá in His divinely-inspired Will and Testament?
And, in the future, when the actual majority of the inhabitants of countries
are Bahá¹ís, do they further believe that the Bahá¹ís, resident in these
countries, will still be called upon to elect secularly formed governments
despite being in a majority and moreover that these secular governments, in
the absence of legally constituted Bahá¹í courts, will apply the Laws of the
Aqdas to these Bahá¹ís?
In sharp contrast to the Bahá¹í sects described above, the Bahá¹ís faithful
to the Covenant of Bahá¹u¹lláh, to the Center of His Covenant, Abdu¹l-Bahá,
and to every clause of the sacred and immortal provisions of His Will and
Testament, steadfastly believe, as emphasized by Shoghi Effendi, that this
divinely-conceived and sacred Document is nothing less than the ³Charter of
the New World Order² of Bahá¹u¹lláh under whose immutable provisions the
future glorious Commonwealth of Bahá¹u¹lláh will ultimately be established
and flourish in all of its glory, as ordained by God.
