According to his website, Eric Stetson, is the founder and executive
director of two non-profit organizations, The Council of Wisdom, which
Stetson describes as "a democratic interfaith organization for
charity, activism, and culture"[1], and the Christian Universalist
Association[2]. Stetson is an ex-member of the Baha'i Faith [3], and
is currently acting as a Minister within the Christian Universalist
Association, as one of three ministers leading the Agapeosis
Fellowship, which is described as "a new Christian Universalist church
in Nashville, Tennessee"[4]. He is also the author of the 2008
publication, Christian Universalism: God's Good News For All People
[5].

My "agenda" in starting and maintaining this Unitarian Bahai list >is >one thing and one thing only -- and I have always been upfront >about >it: To assist in the creation of a liberal alternative to the >Haifan >Baha'i denomination so that they will have a legitimate
I beg to differ. When it looks like Neo-Liberal (NED) foundation
activities, smells like it, talks and walks like it, we are indeed
dealing with Neo-Liberal (NED) North American Foundation activitiy
under the guise of religion -- which is a patented trademark of one of
the most notable of these groups, i.e. The National Endowment for
Democracy:

That said, you yourself as of today have been Sourcewatched:

As has your *Council of Wisdom*

*Agapeosis Fellowship*:

And *Christian Universalist Association*:

From here on out your various public activities as per above groups
will be watched with a veritable microscope and recorded in every
conceivable detail. We are especially interested in learning more
about your sources of funding for the grants you claim your *Council
of Wisdom* will be giving out as of 2010.

Ernesto and all,
Currently the poll is running 5 to 3 in favor of letting Susan >Maneck stay. One of the 3 votes to remove her from the list is my >own. Presumably one of the 5 votes for her to stay is her own.
How do we know that such a poll is even trustworthy? It is possible
that either yourself or Susan Maneck have created more than one
account and voted in the "let her stay" column. And also eight votes
out of the combined membership of this list is hardly a conclusive
election, Mr Hamid Karzai!
If you are trying to decide whether to remain a member of this list >based on whether Susan Maneck is allowed to be a listmember,
I believe that per your earlier statements about being declared a CB,
etc., that allowing Maneck to subscribe in the first place (as well as
Marshall) speaks to something else going on. It also speaks to some
level of disengenuity on your part. I have been around the bloc and
back again enough times to know BS when I see it.
I guess that's something you'll have to decide based on whether >you're willing to accept a democratic vote of this community,
A democratic election would be where every member of this list
participated and cast a vote. Quorum elections might work for Chambers
of Commerce, the LSA or the local PTA, but a democratic election it
certainly isn't what this has been so far.
because I'm not going to set a precedent of unilaterally kicking >people out of this forum even when the majority of voters in our >community vote to let the person stay.
Per the number of subscribers you have the majority of the list have
not voted. You have eight votes in total so far out of 59 subscribers.
That isn't even half of your subscriber pool. How democratic is that,
again?
A final thought on this issue: Personally I don't want Susan >Maneck here because I find her condescending, but I don't have to >approve her posts if she posts things that are nasty, offensive, >combative, whatever. This is a moderated list. And as for the issue >of spying and reporting to Haifa -- does anyone really believe that >they don't already have at least one mole on this list who silently >watches and reports to the ABMs, Continental Counselors, etc.? Of >course they do! That authoritarian organization monitors everything >that non-conformist Bahais and ex-Bahais do. Certainly this list >would be no exception.
The Haifan Bahai organization is not the entity to worry about here.
My concern is more surreptitious US Neo-Liberal foundation initiatives
in alignment with US government policies using religion as a
convenient garb to advance certain interests and agendas. At the
moment there are waftings of the *National Endowment for Democracy* or
a similar foundation think-tank emanating from your general direction.
